We are at a critical juncture of opportunity and challenge for South Burlington. I pledge to work for fair, inclusive solutions that work for all the neighborhoods that make up this great, diverse, and complex city. To that end, I commit to a process of listening and learning with my fellow Councilors.

Only together can we tackle the challenges and open up the opportunities that lie before us. South Burlington is already a great City, and we can work together to make it even better!
A Shared Vision of South Burlington
Together, we can make a difference on:
Smart Growth
Fiscal Responsibility
Safe Community
Vibrant City Center
Climate Change
Affordable Housing
Excellent Schools
I am amazed at the bounty of South Burlington. We are blessed with large and small neighborhoods, each with its own diversity and charm. Our business community ranges from mom-and-pop stores to world-class manufacturing to excellent restaurants and retail. We have at our disposal a recreational hub with Cairns Arena, and we enjoy a reputation for the finest schools in Vermont.
With all of this, however, comes complex city relationships and challenges. I have spoken with many residents from different communities and backgrounds, and I know we can come together to achieve our common goal of a thriving South Burlington.
TOGETHER WE SUCCEED!
Finding practical new ways to generate revenue to maintain the services we already enjoy is imperative. We can work towards the vision and spirit of our City Plan. We will find the common good with cooperation, listening, and reaching a compromise.
I know we Vermonters can come together to solve our problems. We are practical people. We just need to compromise so that everybody wins. Let’s be an example for the rest of the country.
I hear concern about maintaining high academic standards and increasing behavioral challenges in the schools. Although the City Council is not directly responsible for the schools, there is much we can do by supporting public safety, engaging the school board early on regarding development around the schools, coordinating with GMT on transit routes, and building walk and bike paths to the schools. We are one community whose success is interdependent.
Multiple neighborhoods, but one community: all voices are
important!
Completing the TIF District, our City Center, will be transformational. This project will increase affordable housing, commercial space, and dining and entertainment opportunities. Most residents will have access to them by foot, bike or public transit with a minimal carbon footprint. It will also expand city revenues.

We are at a critical juncture of opportunity for South Burlington. As city councilor, I pledge to work for inclusive solutions that are fair and as best as possible work for all communities. I don’t believe in an “all-or-nothing” approach. We succeed by tackling our challenges from all directions and perspectives.
I am grateful for the outreach and support I am already receiving from so many. Your conversations with me are invaluable, and your ideas will lead to solving our common problems. Every voice truly is important.

I appreciate your support and hope to earn your vote for South Burlington City Council!
